The drizzle continued to fall in the early hours of Sunday morning as members of the Taylormade Triathlon Club went about setting up the race site for Race one of the Victorian Duathlon Series. Race numbers were on up the previous years, which was encouraging for the race organisers but given the inclement weather conditions there was a likelihood that some wise people would seek the comfort of their toasty warm doonas over the chilly and damp conditions that they would see upon removing the curtains from the bedroom window at 6am. But to the surprise of many, a good number of on-the-day entries began to fill the registration zone with great enthusiasm, far outweighing the number of competitors who had chosen to remain comfortably settled inside their dwellings. God knows what they were thinking….
